The fitness industry has a.. small problem..
The Gym Is Full of People Who Don’t Understand What They’re Eating. Walk into any gym. You’ll see some people tracking macros without understanding energy balance, taking supplements they can’t pronounce, and trusting influencer meal plans over science.
I’ve seen it for over six years as an athlete and gym manager. The confusion. The inconsistency. The results that never come.
That’s why I started TrueDose.
I’m Nathan—a biology student who spent five years managing a university gym. I’ve seen thousands of people struggle with the same questions:
- “Why am I not losing weight?”
- “What should I actually be eating?”
- “Do I even need supplements?”
- “How do I make this sustainable?”
The fitness industry thrives on complexity. Overpriced meal plans. Contradictory advice. Supplements marketed as magic solutions.
I want to make nutrition simple.
My approach is built on three pillars:
- Evidence-Based Nutrition – No fad diets. No food fear-mongering. Just what the research actually shows about sustainable fat loss, muscle building, and long-term health.
- Supplement Education – Most people don’t need 15 supplements. I help you understand what actually works, what’s worth your money, and what’s just marketing.
- Personal Experience – I’ve lived it—from injury recovery to aggressive cuts to dirty bulks. I’ve made the mistakes so you don’t have to.
My goal: Help you build a nutrition approach that works for YOUR life, YOUR goals, and YOUR body—not some cookie-cutter Instagram plan.
My job is to educate. Your job is to decide what’s right for you.
Because at the end of the day, the best choice isn’t the one I recommend—it’s the one you make confidently, with full understanding of what you’re putting in your body.
What I offer.

My background.
I’m not a registered dietitian. I’m a 22-year-old biology student who’s spent the last 5 years managing a university gym. But here’s what I do have: – Academic training in functional biology and nutrition – Thousands of hours observing what works (and what doesn’t) in real people – A personal fitness journey that’s taught me through both success and failure I’ve been active my entire life—youth basketball and flag football, high school football and track & field, and now training in Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, distance running, and hybrid training.
At 17, a serious lower lumbar injury left me paralyzed for months.
That experience changed everything. I went from chasing performance to understanding how the body actually functions, with a focus on long-term health and injury prevention. My nutrition education didn’t come from a textbook alone—it came from experimenting on myself (anecdotal). Dirty bulks. Aggressive cuts. Plant-based phases. Metabolic adaptation. Reverse dieting. I’ve made every mistake, learned from it, and used my biology background to understand why things worked or didn’t.
I’m not claiming to know everything. But I can read research, understand human metabolism, and translate complex science into actionable steps.
That combination: Education, experience, and empathy — is what I bring to every blog post.
